The commonly used reinforcing materials for FPC reinforcement are as follows:

Polyimide (PI), FR4 and steel sheet

1. FR4 reinforcement: The main components are glass fiber cloth and epoxy resin glue, which is the same as the FR4 material used in PCB; if the thickness is less than 0.1mm, the tolerance can be controlled at +/- 0.05mm. If the thickness is greater than 1.0mm, the tolerance is +/- 0.1mm
2. Steel sheet reinforcement: The composition is steel, which has strong hardness and support strength. Manual assembly is required, the process is more complicated, and the cost will be higher.
3. PI reinforcement: Same as the cover film, it consists of PI and adhesive release paper, but the PI layer is thicker, can be processed from 0.05mm to 0.25mm, and the tolerance can be controlled at +/- 0.03mm. High precision, high temperature resistance (100°C-280°C)
